When to visit Santiago
Late spring through early autumn is the main Camino and travel season, with the busiest, warmest weeks around midsummer and the feast of Saint James in July. Winter is wet and quiet, and a Holy Year brings far larger crowds whenever it falls.
PlanningSantiago money and costs
Spain uses the euro, cards are widely accepted, and Galicia is good value by Western European standards. Lodging ranges from pilgrim hostels to comfortable hotels, and the pilgrim set menu is the classic way to eat well for little.
